Astrix® Capsules & Tablets

Astrix® Tablets

Astrix® tablets are an immediate release low-dose form of aspirin indicated for chronic use in cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease. Astrix® capsules are a modified release low-dose form of aspirin used for the same indication. The enteric coat allows the release of aspirin to be delayed, until the pellets reach the small intestine, thereby reducing the risk of gastric ulceration that may be experienced with longer term use of immediate release aspirin.

Doryx® Capsules & Tablets

Doryx® is a modified release oral formulation of doxycycline (a tetracycline class of antibiotic), that is used primarily as adjunctive treatment of severe acne. Doryx contains enteric-coated pellets of doxycycline hyclate and is the only delayed release pelletised doxycycline product on the market. The modified release formulation of Doryx® delays the release of doxycycline until the product reaches the small intestine thus reducing the potential for gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea and vomiting compared to conventional doxycycline capsules(1) due to the delayed drug release into the small intestine. Doryx® is available in 75mg, 100mg and150mg delayed-release tablets, and 50mg and 100mg delayed-release capsules.

Eryc® /Erymax® Capsules

Eryc® is a modified release erythromycin (a macrolide antibiotic) produced by Mayne Pharma using proprietary pellet technology. Eryc® is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections and is particularly effective as the enteric coat protects the erythromycin from acid degradation in the stomach, whilst allowing consistent and high levels of absorption in the intestine.  Mayne Pharma sells Eryc® in Australia, and to partners in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Canada, Ireland and Korea.

Kadian®/Kapanol™ Capsules

Kapanol™ Capsules

Kadian® is a modified release oral formulation of morphine sulphate indicated for the management of moderate to severe chronic pain. Kadian’s® drug delivery profile is achieved with Mayne Pharma’s sustained release pellet technology which provides smooth steady-state plasma levels for consistent pain relief. Kadian® can be administered in a number of modes (capsules, sprinkle and G-tube)  . which allows for flexibility in dosing.

 

Magnoplasm® Paste

In addition to the four key drug delivery technology products, Mayne Pharma also manufactures and markets Magnoplasm® Paste, a magnesium sulfate-glycerol paste indicated for the treatment of boils, carbuncles and whitlows.
