Cleantaste™

Cleantaste™ is a proprietary Mayne Pharma technology that allows taste masking of unpalatable drugs as well as providing opportunities to improve pharmaceutical stability and/ or modifying the release of drugs. Cleantaste™ has been formulated and previously commercialised as coated Paracetamol powder and tablets, Ambroxol tablets and Cimetidine tablets. The application of Cleantaste™ technology aids improved patient compliance, through the production of formulations that are pleasant tasting and easy to administer, as either suspension formulations or orally disintegrating, chewable and/or dispersible tablets or capules for sprinkling  on food.

Modified-release delivery systems

Mayne Pharma has developed a number of patented sophisticated pellet technologies that have allowed for the formulation of pharmaceuticals with specific modified release profiles. Pulsed, sustained, and delayed release profiles are effectively achieved with the application of a polymer coat to a core of either, API and excipient, or an API coated sugar sphere. This technique allows for variations in release profiles based on the type of polymer applied and the magnitude of polymer coat application.

SUBA™

SUBA™ technology is proprietary technology that improves the oral bioavailability of poorly soluble compounds. The technology utilises a solid dispersion of drug in a polymer to improve the absorption of drugs in the gastrointestinal tract to achieve super bioavailability (SUBA™) compared to conventional formulations. SUBA™ technology has been applied to improve the oral absorption of itraconazole compared to the innovator formulation. Pharmacokinetic studies indicate that SUBA™ Itraconazole has approximately double the bioavailability of the innovator formulation and can be taken without regard to meals.
